RSPB Bempton Cliffs
Last month, I had the opportunity to visit RSPB Bempton Cliffs. I had heard lots of people talk about how amazing Bempton is for bird watching and wildlife photography - and so I arrived with high expectations. The drive there was very pleasant and you arrive into a well organised car park with plenty of space. From the car park, the cliffs aren’t far and everything is very well signed. There is an entry fee, however, anyone under 24 enters for free! As soon as I got onto the newly completed King Charles coastal path, I saw why people talked so much about the birds here! Gulls, Gannets, Razorbills - the lot! Sadly, I didn’t see any puffins but if you’re lucky you can see them and even dolphins.

Coming on a day with good weather - a nice bit of sunlight but not too much - can lead to infinite photo opportunities, as you walk along the cliffs, you come across hundreds of little inlets and perches carved into the cliffs where birds are resting! If you don’t fancy walking along the cliffs, you can also station yourself at one of the multiple viewing platforms. At the end of my walk, I set up my tripod and took some lovely video of a couple of razorbills!
Bempton truly is an amazing place to visit for wildlife photography, or just normal birdwatching! There is also a relatively big gift shop at the end and a cafe to get a snack after your walk. I would highly highly recommend visiting (Tip: try to choose a not so windy day!) for a great day out!
